"If you asked anyone who was involved with the CDAA booth at the Creative Needlework Show in Toronto in October how it was, I expect you would hear the same answer. It was great fun! It's always fun and inspiring to hang out with our "sisters in creating". The planning committee consisted of Marianne Reitsma,Trish Stover,(see image) Dee Goldstein,Marlene Kawalez and Ev Scott. |
That team, along with Marguerite Taylor set up the display.
The huge job of collecting and returning all the dolls was done by Trish.
...The collection of dolls on display was remarkable.
It was a celebration of colour and creativity.
It was a wonderfully eclectic display which represented all levels and experience and every type of medium ...We could show someone the differences of creating in all different brands of polymer,in paperclay, fabric and needle felting. It was especially fun and interesting for them to see some of the artists at work as they demostarted their area of expertise.
...And it was particularly wonderful to be able to promote the CDAA as the organization that has brought us all together. We told them of the opportunities available to members - the mentoring program, video library, the wonderful conference. But most of all -and best of all- the connection to kindred spirits where we can learn from and uplift each other. Where we can plug in to the creative energy and share with each other the joy and frustrations of our passion.Something the rest of the world doesn't necessarily get."
